January Class Schedule

Casa Alpaca & Fiberworks is happy to announce the beginning of the year class schedule for the studio.  Enjoy learning a new skill or brushing up on an old one at a working alpaca ranch.  

January 15th or 22nd – 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Rigid Heddle Loom Weaving for Beginners:  This class will introduce the novice weaver to the basics of weaving without requiring a large loom that takes up space.  The rigid heddle loom is a small basic table top loom that is easy to warp and weave on.   The one-day class begins with warping the loom and setting it up to weave.  The rest of the day is devoted to weaving a scarf then finishing it when the weaving is complete.   Looms will be available for your use in during the class and can be purchased as well. 

There are two sessions of this class offered on separate Saturdays.  Each class is limited to a maximum of 6 participants. The cost for the one day class is $100.00 plus a $20.00 materials fee.  Sign up at the link on the Casa Alpaca website.

January 29 & February 5 10:00 am- 3:00 pm each Saturday

Beginning Loom Weaving: This two-session class is for the person who wants to learn to weave on a four harness loom.  We will learn to measure warp and dress the loom in the first session.  At the second class, weaving techniques will be taught and you will leave class with a hand-woven scarf.  The two day class is $150.00 plus a $50.00 materials fee.  This class is limited to 3 participants due to loom availability and space.  Sign up at the link on the Casa Alpaca website.

Private classes are available as well for those who can’t attend one of the scheduled class dates.
